Patient: Me. I have a crack in the rear left molar which suddenly began paining. Modalities, < touch, <cold drinks,< warm drinks, <lying down.. The tooth was ultra-sensitive and ached. I took pain reliever, high dose paracetamol... didn't help much. I prescribed Nux Vom and it worked for precisely one hour. A repeat did nothing. So I had a good similar only....it didn't work. I then took another look at the day and realised that I had taken 4 cups of coffee over the day. 2 cups of a Colombian and 2 cups of a lovely Rwandan.I noted that sensitivity came on after that. So I took a dose of Chamomilla LM1, and the pain eased 75% in 3 minutes. Today if I lean on the tooth, it hurts for a few seconds and then the pain disappears. I can touch the tooth no problem at all and sleep lying down. ALWAYS TAKE THE OBVIOUS as a clue to what needs fixing.
